Colorado Springs, CO – In response to the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa on communities across Jamaica, Elected United President Horace Brown, a retired U.S. Army veteran, recently traveled to the island to deliver humanitarian support. Brown’s mission was originally highlighted by KRDO News of Colorado Springs, which reported on the urgent needs of local families facing food shortages, damaged homes, and widespread power outages.
During the humanitarian trip, Elected United expanded its relief efforts beyond what was initially reported. The organization donated $1,000 USD to Falmouth Hospital to support ongoing recovery operations. Elected United also supplied the hospital with communication devices, solar lights, and solar chargers, helping restore essential services where electricity remained unreliable.
Horace Brown was accompanied by his cousin, Raymond Hines of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and Elected United team members. Together, they distributed food, assisted with debris removal, supported hospital and other heavily affected communities.
“It’s different when you see it up close,” Brown said. “People lost everything—homes, savings, and the comfort of knowing they were safe. Our mission was to bring hope, light, and support where it was needed most.”
Elected United extends sincere gratitude to all members, donors, sponsors, and volunteers whose generosity and commitment made this mission possible. Their contributions continue to bring relief and hope to families rebuilding their lives after Hurricane Melissa.
